Inspiration
Collaborated with a nonprofit, volunteer committee from C.A.C.A – Seattle to compile 150+ individual submissions into a printed book with 200+ pages. Designed program for medal presentation ceremony with 200+ attendees. This project is part of the Chinese American Word War II (CAWW2) Veteran Recognition Project.

I decided it was important to feature the medal on the cover of the book. The medal itself is extremely beautiful and has a very meaningful design, so I wished to complement it with something just as meaningful without detracting from its beauty. I wrote the Chinese word for hero (英雄) with a large brush, cropping the characters to create an abstract look, and I opted for a navy blue to allow the gold of the medal to stand out.

Anticipating technological constraints of the individuals submitting information, I created Google doc templates and instructions for families to use. I managed 150+ submissions from families of veterans, which often changed and needed to be reuploaded. I prepared these and other official documentation for printing, communicating with the printer to triage printing issues.
I designed an 11"x17" half-fold program for a local event held by the Seattle Regional Congressional Gold Medal Committee to honor the recipients of the Congressional Gold Medal. There were over 200 attendees, comprised of WWII veterans, their families, prominent community members, and elected officials.
